If you are an experienced car, light goods, plant or agricultural Technician, Keltruck are excited to offer you the opportunity to upskill your career. 

Our ‘Training from Other Industries’ programme empowers you to transform your established mechanical expertise into a thriving journey within the realm of the truck industry.

To participate in the programme it is preferable to have the following:

  • The desire to utilise your current experience to complement our current teams;
  • an apprenticeship or equivalent qualification (NVQ Lv2 or equivalent may be considered); and
  • a minimum of 3 years’ mechanical experience

The programme is structured with a specific Scania training programme which allows you to earn, learn and harness your existing skills alongside a team of likeminded individuals from across our network.

The programme offers a combination of onsite mentoring for hands-on development alongside a structured training approach featuring six modules…

  1. Industry & Scania Product Knowledge
    • Gain in-depth understanding of the industry landscape and our products.
    • Learn about the latest trends and advancements shaping the sector.
    • Enhance your expertise with comprehensive product knowledge.
  2. Maintenance & Inspection Theory
    • Master the principles of maintenance and inspection.
    • Learn best practices for ensuring vehicle safety and performance.
    • Develop the skills to conduct thorough and accurate inspections.
  3. Powertrain – Foundation Level
    • Build a solid foundation in powertrain systems.
    • Understand the components and their functions within the powertrain.
    • Learn troubleshooting techniques and maintenance practices.
  4. Chassis Systems – Foundation Level
    • Explore the fundamentals of chassis systems.
    • Understand the role of chassis components in vehicle stability and control.
    • Gain hands-on experience with chassis system maintenance.
  5. Cab & Electrics – Foundation Level
    • Learn the basics of cab systems and electrical components.
    • Understand the integration of cab electronics in vehicle operations.
    • Develop skills in diagnosing and repairing electrical issues.
  6. Roadside Assistance & IRTEC Inspection Assessment
    • Prepare for real-world roadside assistance scenarios.
    • Learn the procedures and protocols for effective roadside support.
    • Undergo the IRTEC inspection assessment to validate your skills.

At the end of the program, you will be accredited with the ITREC qualification and Scania Roadside Qualification. This esteemed certification opens up a wide array of opportunities and pathways for career advancement within Keltruck.
