It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Brigadier Sir Louis Hargroves CBE DL who died on 22 February 2008 aged 90.
Following a highly distinguished military career Sir Louis, affectionately known within his family as the ‘pocket rocket’, entered the private sector whilst also playing a prominent role within the Conservative Party both in Government & in opposition in the 1970s and then in Government once again under the then Margaret Thatcher from 1979 onward.
Around a decade or so ago Sir Louis introduced my son, Chris, to his heroine, Lady Thatcher, for the first time, cementing his journey into politics as a Conservative Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for the forthcoming General Election.
Sir Louis was widely admired by the staff at Keltruck during his time as Non-Executive Chairman – he will be remembered as a fun loving character who always had many a joke to share with everyone in the office and in the workshop.
