Despite the challenging conditions prevailing at the current time, Walsall-based coach operator JKT International has added a sixth Scania Irizar coach to its 12-strong fleet.

“Although these times are extremely tough, we made the decision to continue our investment programme in new PSVAR (Public Service Vehicle Accessibility Regulations) compliant vehicles,” comments JKT International Director, Jawed Akhtar.

Entering service on 1 September 2020, the company’s latest vehicle is a Scania Irizar i6S with HD bodywork.  Based on a Scania K 360 EB4x2 chassis, the coach is built to full PSVAR specification, including a wheelchair lifter and destination equipment.  The vehicles overall length is 12.9-metres, a new variant launched in December 2019. Interior fitments include 53 half leather seats with three-point seatbelts, a central sunken toilet, hot drinks dispenser, DVD player and two monitors, climate control and a reversing camera.  Complementing the vehicles exterior lines, Alcoa Dura-Bright alloy wheels are fitted.

In addition to product quality and customer and driver appeal, JKT International also recognises the value of Scania’s service: “We have a long-standing partnership with Scania and have always received excellent service from both its pre- and after- sales departments,” says Jawed Akhtar.  Supplied with an inclusive two year repair and maintenance contract, service will be provided by JKT International’s local Scania dealer, Keltruck Willenhall.

Established over 50 years ago, JKT International specialises in providing a comprehensive range of UK and European group travel services for schools, clubs and societies.
