Prichard’s are notable devotees of Scania
South Wales based Tom Prichard Contracting has turned to Keltruck to fully equip its fleet with Scania vehicles.
The impressive Llantrisant, Pontyclun based fleet has been supplied by Peter Harris, Account Manager, and is maintained by Keltruck Scania Cardiff.
Tom Prichard, founder & owner of Tom Prichard Contracting, commented:
Prichard’s are a multi-disciplined company covering a wide area and range of the construction industry ranging from earthworks to remediation, demolition, recycling, quarrying & civil engineering.
With the high demand we place on the fleet we have tried and tested various drive trains.
We now spec Scania engines on our Doosan & Terex equipment trucks also due to the reliability, fuel economy and product support from Keltruck Cardiff who we have an excellent relationship with through sales & service and very importantly parts and also impressed stock for our 24hr fleet and client support.
Our fleet of mainly Scania lorries includes articulated lorries, eight-wheeled tipper lorries, a beaver tail, skip loaders and road sweepers.
I’m very pleased with the fuel economy on the new Scania tippers recently supplied by Keltruck. In addition we are seeing improved fuel economy in the Terex Finlay J-1160 stone crusher which is also conveniently powered by a Scania industrial engine.
TOM PRICHARD
Purchasing decisions are made at Prichard’s with reliability, dealer support and whole-life costs in mind. Tom continues:
It’s always very straightforward dealing with Keltruck and Scania Finance. It’s just a good all-round service which is backed up by the industry knowledge of Peter Harris of Keltruck and Rob & Matt at SFGB, with whom we’re doing our seventh or eighth deal.
For added safety our vehicles have been fitted with a passenger side ‘vision door’ designed and installed by Keltruck to give the driver a valuable line of sight to potential cyclists or hazards on the nearside of the vehicle.
In addition, the vehicles are equipped with the latest side cameras, side sensors and an audible alarm for cyclists and pedestrians when the vehicle is turning left.

TPC also has a specialist eight-wheeled tipper truck which has a dual-purpose tailboard with hinged and barn-style doors in order to carry bulk loads.
Andrew Long, who has worked closely with the Prichard’s team for many years providing maximum uptime across the vehicle & plant fleets, commented:
As Ketruck Scania aftersales general manager I’m delighted with the length, strength & breadth of our relationship with Tom & his team. The vehicle fleet is almost exclusively Scania product maintained by Keltruck and all of the plant is powered by Scania Power Solutions, again supported by Keltruck. Even the Doosan wheel loader has a Scania engine.

The company has further orders secured with Keltruck to assist their expanding business and continue to use the services of Keltruck for vehicle supply, parts, maintenance, support for Scania industrial engines and Scania finance as the relationship strengthens further. Peter Harris, Keltruck Scania Account Manager, comments:
Exciting news that Tom Prichard Contracting has ordered a further 15 trucks through Keltruck Limited as part of their growth and fleet renewals. The trucks will be delivered over the next 12 to 18 months and include tippers, hookloaders, skips, tractor units and South Wales’ first 770S 150T heavy haulage tractor unit.

We look forward to supplying many more Scania vehicles to this fast growing Mid Glamorgan company!
